Sounding Forth 2026 – Holiness
What does it really mean to live a holy life? Is holiness about following a list of rules, or is it something much deeper?
It's easy to fall into one of two extremes: believing that doing all the right things will make God love us more, or accepting God's grace without allowing it to change the way we live.
As we continue Sounding Forth 2026, we explore Paul's reminder that God has not called us to impurity, but to holiness.
God's love isn't something we can earn. Through Jesus, we have already been offered forgiveness and salvation. But His grace doesn't leave us where we were. God calls us to become more like Jesus.
In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul challenges believers to honor God with their bodies, pursue sexual purity, love one another more deeply, and live faithfully in their everyday responsibilities.
Holiness isn't about earning God's approval. It's about responding to His love with obedience and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts, desires, relationships, and actions.
We aren't meant to pursue this transformation alone. Through Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and the encouragement of other believers, God continues shaping us into the people He created us to be.
God loves you right where you are, but He has called you to something more. As we surrender every area of our lives to Him, we make room for His Spirit to work in us and through us.
Where might God be calling you to take another step toward holiness?
